Leo Club of MGS Monthly Meeting

The Leo Club of Methodist Girls' School held their monthly meeting at 2.30pm in the school. 

On hand to give them some advice were President Emily Kong, Membership Chairperson PP T. Sriskanda and Leo Advisor Henna Tan.

CPR Technique Project

CPR training conducted by St Johns Ambulance Malaysia for Lions in Zone 13, 14 and 16.

Today was the first Sunday for such training. 

District Governor Douglas Oh was present at this project.

Leo Talent Quest

Leo Talent Quest for Leo Clubs in Region 3 and 4 was held on Sunday at AEON Big Falim. It was organised by Leo Club of Sam Tet, Ave Maria Convent, St. Michael Institute and Poi Lam High School.

Members from various Leo clubs participated in the talent quest. The winner was from Leo Club of Sam Tet.

District Governor Douglas Oh was the Guest of Honour.

Attended by President Emily Kong, 3rd Vice President R. Jeyasingam, Leong Chyi Liang, Henna Tan, Wilson Wong and N. Rathakrishnan.

LCIH 52nd Anniversary Celebration

The LCIH held its 52nd anniversary celebrations. It was carried out in a small scale with 70 attendees at the mezzanine floor of the Ipoh City & Country Club.

The Guest of Honour was District Governor Douglas Oh who inducted our member Khairol Izam.

The 2nd VDG William Lim was also in attendance.

There was a cake cutting ceremony attended by Past Presidents of the club.

After the function the members adjourned to the karaoke upstairs.

Charity Family Walk

The Charity Family Walk was a roaring success. We had more than 300 participants of which about 80 were our own Leos.

All the participants enjoyed themselves. Breakfast was served to everyone after the walk.

Thereafter certificates of achievement were presented to all those who completed the walk in an hour.

Best of all we together with ICCC raised more than RM10,000.00 for the Ray of Hope.

Presentation of Wheelchair

The LCIH also presented a wheelchair to Mdm Zalmiah at her home in Kampung Kepayang.

The Lions present were President Emily Kong, Treasurer Lakhmer Singh and son, Membership Chairperson PP T. Sriskanda and son, Lions Henna Tan, N. Rathakrishnan and P. Velupillai.

The LCIH presented a wheelchair to an ex-army veteran Mr. Othman at his home in Taman Kinta, Gopeng.

Paediatric Cancer Awareness Project

20 paediatric cancer patients and their parents were entertained at the Lost World of Tambun in a project jointly organised by four organisation, Lions Club of Ipoh Host (LCIH), Lost World of Tambun, Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun and Lioness Club of Ipoh.

LCIH is deeply greatful to the Lost World of Tambun for allowing all participants of this project to enter Lost World of Tambun free of charge. 

LCIH is also greatful to the doctors and nurses of the paediatric cancer ward of Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun for accompying the   children in this project.

Donation of Biscuits


LCIH visited the Praise Emmanuel Children's Home and donated 3 tins of biscuits to the home. 

On hand to receive the donation were the caretaker and some children.

90 food packets and drinks were distributed to the poor at the Paloh Mosque, Ipoh.

Leo Club of MGS AGM


The newly formed Leo Club of Methodist Girls School held its AGM on 17th January, 2018 at the school which was attended by 60 Leos. 

Present at this historic meeting were President Emily Kong and Leo Advisor Henna Tan.

This was LCIH's 100 project/activity for this term as from 1st July, 2017 to date.

X-mas 2017

LCIH wrap up 2017 with a meaningful Christmas event at Good Shepherd Family Home Ipoh.

30 children from Emmanuel Praise Home and Good Shepherd home were entertained to a X'mas lunch by LCIH.

On hand to assist LCIH were the junior choir from St Michaels church together with santa clause.

Presentation on the Formation of a Leo Club

Later LCIH went to the Methodist Girls School to do a presentation also on the formation of a Leo Club in that school.

The members who attended were President Emily Kong, 1st Vice President Christopher Chew, Membership Chairperson T. Sriskanda, Johnson Teoh, Henna Tan, Wilson Wong and P. Velupillai.

There was a slide presentation on the benefits of being a Leo and Leo activities.

Around 160 students attended the talk.

Mid Autumn Festival

Lions Club of Ipoh Host celebrated Mid Autumn Festival with children from Pertubuhan Pengurusan Pusat Jagaan 1Malaysia, Ipoh, Perak.

The members treated the children to some food, drinks and mooncakes. Thereafter the children and the Lions celebrated the mid autumn festival with a lantern prosession.

Finally games were played and prizes were awarded to the children. All in all everybody had a good time including the Lions.

LC of Ipoh Central Installation of President and BODs

6 Lions attended the dinner held at the Weil Ballroom, Weil Hotel.

Lions who attended the function are President Emily Kong, 2nd Vice President Jimmy Chua, PP Dr. S.  Martin, V. Sreedaran Nair, Henna Tan and Richard Wong.
