Engaging with Orang Asli Student Project

81 students from SK Ulu Geruntum, Gopeng received a new set of shoes, socks, stationaries, biscuits and nutritious drinks from LCIH today.

The children were also treated to a Marrybrown meal.

Lions present were President Emily Kong, Treasurer Lakhmer Singh, Club Membership Chairperson PP T. Sriskanda, Club LCIF Chairperson PP Peter Lip, Hari Singh, Leong Chyi Liang, Eugene Ong and N. Rathakrishnan together with 14 Leos from Leo Club of Idris Shah and their Teacher Advisor.

Leo Clubs Charter Day

The big day came. The District Governor District 308 B2 was there. The 1st Vice District Governor and 2nd Vice District Governor were also in attendance. 

With all the top three cabinet officers present the Leos were indeed privilleged on this historic occasion.

This is the 156 project and activity for this term. Already a record for LCIH.

85 food packets and drinks were distributed to the poor at the Paloh Mosque, Ipoh.

Soup Kitchen (Relieving the Hunger Project)

The project was carried out at Masjid Kpg Paloh, Ipoh. 90 food packets were distributed to children and adults by Lion members.

X-mas 2017

LCIH wrap up 2017 with a meaningful Christmas event at Good Shepherd Family Home Ipoh.

30 children from Emmanuel Praise Home and Good Shepherd home were entertained to a X'mas lunch by LCIH.

On hand to assist LCIH were the junior choir from St Michaels church together with santa clause.

Interview of a handicapped person

Tamer Hari Singh and N. Rathakrishnan interviewed a handicapped person, Mr. Balakrishnan to see what kind of assistance Mr. Bala needs in life.

Handing Over of SMK Anderson Toilet

5 Lions led by President Emily Kong, Membership Chairperson PP T. Sriskanda, Tamer Hari Singh, Wilson Wong and P. Velupillai together with 3 Leos of SMK Anderson attended the handing over of SMK Anderson toilet which had been sponsored by LCIH. The SMK Anderson Principle witnesseth the handing over on behalf of the school.

Presentation of Leo CLD Certificate

Certificate for attending LEO CLD Programme was presented to SMK Anderson principal for 10 Leo club members who attended the Leo CLD programme on November.

Soddatta Charity Fund

The LCIH went international when they participated in the  Soddatta Charity Fund at the Prince of Songkla University in Hadyai, Thailand.

100 poor university students were given 10,000 bath to cover one years univercity expenses.

The LCIH donated RM10,000 for this project.

Presentation of Reading Material

LCIH presented some magazines and Readers Digest books to SK Guru Kalgidhar school library to enable the children there to improve their reading habits.

5 Lions led by President Emily Kong attended the presentation.

Children's Day at SK Guru Kalgidhar

In conjunction with Childrens Day, LCIH donated 50 school bags to needy students of SK Guru Kalgidhar Buntong. 5 Lion members led by President Emily Kong attended the presentation at the school. 

The children were treated with ice cream cones also.

Donation to Diabetes Patient

In conjunction with World Diabetes Day, the LCIH donated RM1,150.00 to a diabetes patient Mr. Viknesvaran to assist him to undergo Naturopati treatment for his leg. 

Six Lion members visited him at his house in Taman Suria, Ipoh.

Sight First Project at SJK (C) Hing Hwa

The Lions Club of Ipoh Host carried out an eye check-up on 81 students of SJK (C) Hing Hwa. This project was carried out in conjunction with Lions World Sight Day. The Kinta Optometry Centre was on hand to assist the Lions in this project.

Presentation of Books to School Children in Conjunction with Children Day

Lions Club of Ipoh Host presented nearly 200 story books to students of SJK(C) Hing Hwa to encourage them with their reading project.

Donation to Kamaleswaran a/l Kannan

Donation of RM1,800.00 to needy student Kamaleswaran a/l Kannan from The Salvation Army Boys’ Home who is pursuing his studies in Bachelor of Technology Management at Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka. The cheque was collected on his behalf by the captain of The Salvation Army Boys’ Home, Mr. Nigel Jones. Members present were President Emily Kong, 1st Vice President Christopher Chew, 2nd Vice President Jimmy Chua, Membership Chairperson PP T. Sriskanda, Tamer Hari Singh, Eugene Ong, Teoh Choong Shen and Wilson Wong.

Donation of Books for SK Manjoi Dua Library

LCIH donated a sum of RM992.65 for sponsoring new english reading material for SK Manjoi Dua library.

The book presentation was held at the school library attended by the headmistress Puan Hjh Zulaida bt Hj Omar together with few teachers and student.

Go Green Project at Kpg Pawong

The team of President Emily Kong, PP T. Sriskanda, PP Peter Lip, PP Dr. Martin, Hari Singh, V. Sreedaran Nair, Evonne Chen, Mohd Said@ Mosa, Wilson Wong, Richard Wong, N. Rathakrishnan and Dato’ Zullkiffley together with First Vice District Governor Dato’ Ir. Neo Say Yeow and District GST Coordinator Michel Yee promoted a Go Green Project with the residence of Kpg Pawong at their newly refurbished hall.

The villagers were treated with a Go Green lunch, cookies donated by Yee Hup and mineral water. The members also distributed Go Green signage to the villagers.

Lion Evonne Chen was the Organising Chairperson.


Renovation of Community Hall and Placement of Lions Signage at Kpg. Pawong, Pos Slim

President Emily Kong lead members PP T. Sriskanda, PP Peter Lip, PP Dr. Martin, Hari Singh, V. Sreedaran Nair, Evonne Chen, Mohd Said@ Mosa, Wilson Wong, Richard Wong, N. Rathakrishnan and Dato’ Zullkiffley to Kpg Pawong to witness handling over the renovated Community Hall and to put up a legacy signage for the project.

The event was also graced by First Vice District Governor Dato’ Ir. Neo Say Yeow and District GST Coordinator Michel Yee.
