Soup Kitchen (Relieving the Hunger Project)

President Emily Kong attended the Soup Kitchen Project this week at Masjid Kpg Paloh, Ipoh.

Soddatta Charity Fund

The LCIH went international when they participated in the  Soddatta Charity Fund at the Prince of Songkla University in Hadyai, Thailand.

100 poor university students were given 10,000 bath to cover one years univercity expenses.

The LCIH donated RM10,000 for this project.

Lions who attended were President Emily Kong, 1st Vice President Christopher Chew, Secretary Evonne Chen, Membership Chairperson PP T. Sriskanda, Tamer Hari Singh, Eugene Ong and Wilson Wong.

Leos Project at Rumah Kebajikan Harapan Baru Ipoh

The Leo Club of Sam Tet and Ave Maria Convent carried out project at  Rumah Kebajikan Harapan Baru Ipoh. The Leos presented school supplies to the children. This project was attended by Lion Rathakrishnan.

They also organised games for the children and cleaned up the homes garden.

Lcih donated rm500 towards this project.

Soup Kitchen (Relieving the Hunger Project)

The project was carried out at Masjid Kpg Paloh, Ipoh. 85 food packets were distributed to children and adults by Lion members.

Contribution for Leos Club Project

Lion N. Rathakrishnan presented RM500.00 on behalf of Lions Club of Ipoh Host to President Har Kah Hin of Leo Club of Ave Maria Convent. 

Together with Leo Club of Sam Tet NTS School they will use the contribution to buy 20 school bags to be distributed to the children of Persatuan Harapan Baru Pasir Pinji on 26th November, 2017.

Lions Millennium Time Capsule

Lion Millennium Time Capsule were built at DR Seenivasagam Recreational Park which is the largest recreational park in Perak. The official launch was on 20th May, 2000.

Objective:
1. To deliver messages to future generations.
2. To give our descendents a glimpse of their past.

Two capsule were installed. One capsule will be opened in 100 years (year 2100).

The second capsule will be opened in 20 years ( year 2020 in line with Tun Dr. Mahathir, Malaysian 4th Prime Minister's Vision). Another capsule may then be installed.

Graduation Ceremony of Special Needs Children of Kolej Tingkatan Enam Seri Putera

A graduation ceremony was held at Tower Regency Hotel & Apartments for special needs children from Kolej Tingkatan Enam Seri Putera.

LCIH sponsered the lunch for these children.

The Lion members who attended this function were President Emily Kong, Treasurer Lakhmer Singh, Membership Chairperson T. Sriskanda, Eugene Ong, N. Rathakrishnan and P. Velupillai.

Soup Kitchen (Relieving the Hunger Project)

75 food packets and drinks were distributed to the poor at the Paloh Mosque, Ipoh.

Presentation on the Formation of a Leo Club

Later LCIH went to the Methodist Girls School to do a presentation also on the formation of a Leo Club in that school.

The members who attended were President Emily Kong, 1st Vice President Christopher Chew, Membership Chairperson T. Sriskanda, Johnson Teoh, Henna Tan, Wilson Wong and P. Velupillai.

There was a slide presentation on the benefits of being a Leo and Leo activities.

Around 160 students attended the talk.

Presentation on the Formation of a Leo Club

Seven LCIH members, President Emily Kong, 1st Vice President Christopher Chew, Membership Chairperson T. Sriskanda, Johnson Teoh, Md. Said@ Mosa, Wilson Wong and P. Velupillai visited SMK Main Convent to promote the Leo Club to the students.

The presentation included the benefit of being a Leo member which is clearly stated in the LEO motto as L = Leadership, E = Experience and O = Opportunity.

Around 120 students attended the talk.

Dialogue with Leos

The LCIH held a dialogue with the Leo Clubs of Anderson, Idris Shah and Sam Tet at 2:00pm after the Festival of Light cum Children's Day celebration.

The discussion during the dialogue was to advice the Leos on the protocol and also on the issues and problems faced by the Leos.

Lions who attended were President Emily Kong, 3rd Vice President R. Jeyasingam, Treasurer Lakhmer Singh, Membership Chairperson PP T. Sriskanda, Wilson Wong, N. Rathakrishnan and Khairol Izam.

Festival of Light Cum Children's Day Celebration

300 Lions, Lioness, Leo, children, old folks and guest gathered at the Ipoh City and Country Club, Jalan Tuanku Bainun, Ipoh to attend the Festival of Light cum Children's Day Celebrations organised by the Lions Club of Ipoh Host, Lioness Club of Ipoh, together with Leo Club of Anderson, Idris Shah and Sam Tet.

Children and old folks from 13 homes were entertained to a sumptious lunch. While having lunch they were entertained by the Leos.

About 240 children and old folks were given ang-pows by the Lions Club of Ipoh Host. 

This is the biggest function organised by LCIH in the last forty years according to senior Lions.

This project involved engaging the youth since the Leos were co-organisers of this meaningful project.

16 members from the club led by President Emily Kong attended the function.

A Visit to Senior Lion

6 LCIH members led by President Emily Kong visited senior Lion Khor Chee Kung at his residence in Canning Garden  Ipoh to present him with the 50th year as a Lion LCI Milestone Chevron Award. 

LCIH is very proud to have a member of such long standing in the club.

Presentation of Reading Material

LCIH presented some magazines and Readers Digest books to SK Guru Kalgidhar school library to enable the children there to improve their reading habits.

Children's Day at SK Guru Kalgidhar

In conjunction with Childrens Day, LCIH donated 50 school bags to needy students of SK Guru Kalgidhar Buntong. 5 Lion members led by President Emily Kong attended the presentation at the school. 

The children were treated with ice cream cones also.

Donation to Ms. Harbir Kaur

Lcih presented a cheque for RM965.15 to Ms Harbir Kaur at her home in Lim Gardens, Ipoh for her CT scan and radiologist fees at Fatimah Hospital.

Lions present were President Emily Kong. 3rd Vice President R. Jeyasingam and Membership Chairperson PP T. Sriskanda.

Donation to Diabetes Patient

In conjunction with World Diabetes Day, the LCIH donated RM1,150.00 to a diabetes patient Mr. Viknesvaran to assist him to undergo Naturopati treatment for his leg. 

Six Lion members visited him at his house in Taman Suria, Ipoh.

Legacy Project at SMK Idris Shah

Seven Lions member attended the opening Ceremony of the motorcycle and bicycle garage at SMK Idris Shah. This is the Legacy Project organised by Lions Club of Ipoh Host and Leo Club of Idris Shah Sec School. The ribbon cutting ceremony was also attended by YDP PIBG of the school, Mr. Ahmad Termizi.

In her speech, President Emily Kong said the LCIH was looking forward to organise more meaningful project with the Leo Club and the school.

World Diabetes Day

LCIH celebrated World Diabetes Day with students and teachers from SMK Main Convent. Lions member were assisted by staff from KMC during this project. A total of 191 students and teachers underwent glucose and BMI test.

LCIH donated RM500.00 to Mr. Manukaran for his son travelling expenses to Institut Jantung Negara for his medical examination.

Go Green Project with Tadika Adik Bistarii and Lioness Club of Ipoh

Green Monday Introductory Project with kids including presentation of dustbin, recipe book, colouring contest for age 2 – 4 and vegetable and fruit salad making for age 5 – 6 at Tadika Adik Bistarii, Ipoh.

2017 Peace Poster Contest

Eleven Lions clubs including Lions Club of Ipoh Host organised a Peace Poster Contest on 5th Nov at 12:00 noon. 150 students participated in this contest at AEON Big Falim, Ipoh. Leo Club of Anderson - Leo Membership Drive

9 Lions namely President Emily Kong, 1st Vice President Christopher Chew, 3rd Vice President R. Jeyasingam, Membership Chairperson PP T. Sriskanda, PP Foo Wan Shoon, Wilson Wong  P. Vellupillai, N. Rathakrishnan and Dato' Zullkiffley attended the Leo Club of Anderson Membership Drive Day.

The aim of this project was to increase the club membership. LCIH President, Emily Kong was the  Guest of Honour and Lion Dato' Zullkiffley was the main speaker for this project. They was a powerpoint presentation about the benefit of being a Leos.

President Emily Kong reminded the Leos to concentrate on projects in their school and NOT outside and always remember to get permission from your school, parents and sponsoring Lions club before they undertake any project.
